Activision’s embargo around its long rumored subscription service has been broken, with The Wall Street Journal first to report the news. Activision’s new studio, Beachhead has been rumored to have been working on a paid subscription model that would augment existing Call of Duty games.

This week was choke full of interesting tidbits around several games set to release this year. Developer Turn10 and Microsoft revealed that Forza 4 will offer exclusive cars depending on where the game is pre-ordered. Also, Sucker Punch revealed that inFamous 2 will make use of your data from the first game.

Early this year it was revealed by Ubisoft that a Splinter Cell HD Trilogy would be making its way over to the PS3 this summer. However, even though the publisher haven’t committed to a firm date yet, there is strong indication that it may be in a couple months.

Some interesting news around upcoming games was revealed today for the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Apparently the classic Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare will be remade for the PS3. Some more information around Trenched, a game by Double Fine has also been revealed today.

In what is seemingly becoming a popular trend, Microsoft’s Xbox Live Marketplace is also suffering an outage. Users attempting to access the Marketplace and Indie section will be met with no content being displayed.

The developers behind The Witcher series originally planned to have the first game on the PS3 and Xbox 360. However, due to development resource constraints the studio, CD Projekt, decided to just focus on the PC version. The studio indicated plans to bring The Witcher 2 to the consoles back in 2009.

There has been zero news around the mysterious PS3 exclusive, Agent, being developed by Rockstar. The game was announced several E3’s ago and went under the radar for a couple years.

As part of Sony’s PSP event Square Enix also revealed a great cross section of Final Fantasy Type-0. This is by far the most ambitious project Square Enix has worked on to date on the PSP.
