Valve offering free copy of Portal for a limited time
There is good news for those who missed the opportunity to play the first Portal game as Valve is now offering it for free. This deal is only for a limited time so gamers may want to pick this up ASAP.
As part of a Valve’s Games and Learning program, the company is offering the first Portal game for free on Steam till September 20th. Gamers can jump onto Steam to download their free copy for the PC or Mac.
As part of Games and Learning, Valve has a Learn With Portals program where the developers spend some time in the classroom teaching kids about physics, math, logic, spatial reasoning, probability and problem-solving.
Gamers who are fans of Portal 2 and missed the first game should definitely pick this title up. The game actually runs quite well on even low-end PCs.
You can head on over to Steam to download your copy of the game right now. Also, check out our review of Portal 2 if you are interested in picking this bad boy up as well.

That means I saved 19 dollars. I dont like going all out on a game that doesnt support trophies, theres no purpose.
I got Rainbow six for dirt cheap. Good game, but i have no motivation to play. Portal is the only exception because its a puzzle game. I just got it free and saved myself money.
Not to mention, the orange box was a terrible port to the PS3.
But, rest assured, I get your point. But I was just saying..

@Roca
I would have no problem gaming with that on my head. I just don’t want to pay for 150″ screen when I’m only getting the elision of a 150″ screen.

A 150″ 1080p TV would have pixels an inch across.
Do any of the PC gamers here have a 1600p monitor? I was thinking about getting one at the end of the year if the price goes down a bit.

I Will Pass, I rather get a Sony 70″ Bravia real size and nothing on my head.
Despite being published by Microsoft, the Gears of War IP is wholly owned by Epic Games. In an interview, Epic CEO Mike Capps stated his desire to eventually bring Gears of War to other platforms, such as the PlayStation 3. However, he further stated “Time and time again, when it came down to figure out what we do next with Gears, we sat down with Microsoft and they’ve given us really good, compelling reasons to work with them again.”

“Future of gaming – 150? screen HD 3D experience”
yeah, this has been on show as a prototype since at at least January. TechRadar did a review on this back then and liked it. Back then they said it was like 80″ from 15 feet away, so they probably placed the OLEDs a little bit closer to the eyes and/or enlarged them slightly.
“Frankly, if you gave us the choice between staring at a big 3D TV with active shutter glasses and donning one of these badboys, we’d choose the headset every time.”
$799 preorder, for anyone who is curious.

I think I’ll wait for some more reviews to come out… and safety guidelines.

This is actually the second time Valve is giving away Portal for free. They already sold like a bajillion copies of it lol. They might as well just make it free from here on out if they are going to keep giving it away like this.

@ rhino and _me,
I just downloaded it. Try again, maybe they made it available for Oz after you posted that?

Valve needs to make of game with their own idea maybe Half-Life 3 as a PS3 exclusive. So they can make it in native 1080p 60 frames per second with PlayStation Move optional support and lag free online cross play gameplay and PC mod support like Unreal Tournament III.
