Uncharted 3 to have the biggest marketing push ever by Sony UK
The Uncharted franchise has taken the pole position as Sony’s flag ship title. The series has managed to epitomize the essence of the PS3, offering beautiful HD graphics streaming off a meaty 50GB Blu-ray disc.
The second game in the franchise managed to snag the second highest Metacritic score after GTA IV and with the highest number of awards this generation. The game did well sales wise as it went on to sell over 5 million units.
As reported by MCVUK, Sony UK stated that Uncharted 3 will have the biggest marketing push ever in that territory. Sony UK product manager, Ian Vinten said, “Uncharted 3 is the cornerstone of the PlayStation 3 marketing activity this peak [season].”
This will be the biggest launch in SCE UK’s history, both in terms of ambition, numbers and spend and will be supported by a marketing budget of around £5 million ($8 million).
That is a significant amount of money that will be spent in just one of the many territories across the globe. Although, it still won’t reach the level Microsoft spent on Halo 3, which was reportedly around $200 million.
Sony recently released a brand new 30 second TV spot that will air tomorrow evening during the NFL Vikings vs. Bears game at 8:20pm ET. The trailer includes never before seen footage of the game in action.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is set to launch the first of next month, 11-1-2011.

GTAIV for PC- 90/100 metacritic.
PC has better graphics and its the same game.
Not to mention theres tons of user-generated content.
98/100 is a joke.
Its dumb to compare GTAIV to Uncharted 2 and say GTAIV is better and has one of the highest scores of all time.
BUT, that doesnt bother me. What bothers me is the fact that 98/100 says that its JUST as good as III, Vice City, San Andreas…… YEAH RIGHT. Not even close.
GTAIV 90/100 is where it will be in my mind. More logical for 2 reasons as stated above.
90/100 is still great. Its a better score than KZ3, R2, R3, etc….and those were all amazing games.
Finally… As for the article:
Sony needs to do more advertising. They learned from their mistake in the past.
So this is no big deal. Except they always make amazing trailers for Uncharted. Always fun to watch

I still remember the dear playstation comercials for U2. Even family members who know nothing about games talked about it.

Man too many awesome games coming out. Batman’s out this week, BF3 not long after that (though I am reconsidering my pre-order), then UC3. fuck xmas is going to be a busy time lol.

I can’t wait for Uncharted 3. This game is going to be super awesome. However, Batman comes out tomorrow and I will definetely be getting this game.

45 hours into Dark Souls and I’m not even half way through the game. Batman and R&C: All 4 One are out tomorrow, BF3 the week after and Uncharted 3 the week after that.
I think I will stick to those 5 games for the rest of the year and everything else will have to wait until 2012
