Rumor: Soul Calibur V to feature Assassin’s Creed character
Soul Calibur V is set to release early next year and Namco Bandai is already beta testing the game’s net code. This has led to some interesting news about the game to leak ahead of official announcement.
It appears that Namco Bandai is following in footsteps of Mortal Kombat as Soul Calibur V will have some character crossover. Earlier this year Mortal Kombat released with a special playable character Kratos from God of War series.
As reported by Joystiq, it appears that Soul Calibur V will have Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed series. Namco must have partnered with Ubisoft to make Ezio a playable character in the upcoming game. It will be curious to see if there will be any game content crossover, where if you beat Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, you can earn different weapons.
There is no official confirmation yet, but it looks very plausible at the moment. Could this be the best guest character to join Soul Calibur since Link?

Soul Calibur has not been the same in years (Since 2)
The best ones were:
-Souls Blade (PS1)
-Souls Calibur (DC)
-Soul Calibur 2 (GC)
Now they are trying to do too much and the game is too dark now (with monster and creatures) and the stages are not as cool/fun as they were before.

SC was much better than Tekken. The first SC game had RPG elements…doing quests to obtain better weapons (with different stats, range, speed, etc) and able to use those weapon in SP and MP mode.

Soul Calibur 2 on Xbox was awesome! I never played SC3 on PS2 but heard it was nice….But Soul Calibur 4 is just garbage compared to the previous installments. It’s all about boobs and asses now, which isn’t bad…but cleary does not belong in a fighting game.
I get enough of that from tram pararam.
Lmao anyways I won’t be purchasing SC5 if the PS3 version doesn’t contain rumble, trophies, and in game XMB function.

I wouldn’t even mind going back to Altair as the Crusades setting is a lot better IMO than the Roman one.
Egypt would be pretty badass too. It could also be worked in well given the nature of the story and the ‘ancient astronauts’ concept introduced prior. Of course Egypt would be very new in that story.
Maybe a cool, Origins that shows the war and the rebuilding, then a few thousand years the Egypt campaign can start.

No…in other words Soul Calibur is now a fad type of game for the average casual gamer. Who do you think they’re advertising too with the large boobs, pumpkin asses, and bare naked bodies in the game? And trust me I have gotten over it…a looooong time ago. I stopped playing it and moved right along to better quality fighting games. You can keep your Japanese hentai HD game.

You missed the point. Moved on to b-e-t-t-e-r “quality” games…I didn’t say less sexual but beeeeeetter quality. Yeah Mortal Kombat has some sexy chicks that I would bang in a heart beat but has a solid gameplay over Soul Calibur.
Soul Calibur has had the same story since the beginning…find soul edge find soul edge. It’s gotten boring now. What? With Mortal Kombat you first had to defeat the half human half dragon reigning challenger of Mortal Kombat known as Goro in order to face the evil sorcer Shang Tsung.
In the next game the evil emperor of Outworld (Shoa Kahn) defies the rules of the Elder Gods to invade Earth and you have to stop him. And story continues and evolves from there but do you see the point? The quality of Soul Calibur has gone down.
Instead of thinking of a new plot or changing it up a bit…they go with the “make women sex objects” type of flow and ruin what potential was left of the series.
Now quite frankly I could care less about the other series of games you mentioned as I’m a sole fan to Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat alone. ALTHOUGH…although I ahve played the other ones and found them more entertaining than SC4 except for Tekken.
If the script were flipped I would be blasting Tekken straight to Hell.
So anyways I’m not even going to bother with the last comment. I’m comfortable in my own skin and know that I am attracted to the opposite sex as I was naturally designed by marvelous Creator.

The thing that I didn’t like about SC was that it was much quicker than Tekken with shorter cool downs which, in my opinion, made it a lot easier to spam attacks. Tekken was a real game of attack and counter attack and if you stuffed up you paid.
I also likes the juggling in Tekken more but that just may be me.
