Back in the ‘80s, Taito released a controversial video game on the NES that became notorious for its unconventional game design for the time. Takaeshi’s Challenge, was closely developed with input directly from famed Japanese movie director Beat Takeshi responsible for popular films such as Battle Royale.

Its been a very busy Christmas holiday season with so many games to play in such a short period of time. Epic has dropped a sizable demo for Gears of War 3 on Xbox Live today in hopes of luring more gamers into the finale of the trilogy.

Publishers including full sized games for free for the PS3 version of the title have been a popular trend this year. It looks like this will continue into next year with Sony spearheading this practice along with David Jaffe’s independent studio, Eat Sleep Play.

While many of the big publishers may have unloaded their blockbuster wares in time for Christmas, some are still pushing out some doozies after the holiday. The highly anticipated Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD remake finally dropped onto the PlayStation Network today with some interesting titles.

Uncharted 3 is officially the Blorge Game of the Year, beating The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Gears of War 3, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Shogun 2: Total War to the title.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is the latest entry in the popular series released by Ubisoft, which is a continuation of the overarching story of the secret war between the Assassins and Templars. Revelations will intertwine the stories of Desmond Miles, Altair La-Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze in a way never seen before in the series.

Gamers playing the new Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand DLC pack have noticed several puzzling clues scattered around the maps. This has caused many to speculate on future DICE projects and potential DLCs that may radically alter the game.

Sony recently launched the PlayStation Vita in Japan and according to reports it appears that initial shipment is already sold out. The company decided to raise its initial launch supply to 700k due to strong demand for the device.
