With the dismantling of THQ, many wondered if Saints Row 4 would make it out this year. Volition’s new owner, Deep Silver has revealed the launch date for Saints Row 4 and its only a few short months away.
Saints Row 4 never really got a proper unveiling and really came to light during THQ’s auction as Volition was sold off to Dead Island’s publisher. This may have caused the game to miss out on a prime time to market and build up hype for the game.
Deep Silver has revealed that Saints Row 4 will be launching August 20th in the US and three days later in Europe, leaving only five short months prior to the game’s launch.
A delay would be the obvious case here, but with Grand Theft Auto V dropping later this year, I can’t blame Deep Silver wanting to push this game out as early as possible. The publisher released an announcement teaser trailer today.
In other news, a mysterious logo for a new Assassin’s Creed game was discovered by All Games Beta, showing off a new title – Rising Phoenix. The logo references Ubisoft Digital Arts, which is the publisher’s special effects/cinematics studio.
It was reported that Ubisoft was planning another PS Vita Assassin’s Creed game for 2013. A Spanish online retailer, XtraLife.es has a listing for Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix on its site.
Just last week Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag to some controversy over the publisher’s decision to number the next game in the series on the heel of ACIII. Black Flag is supposed to be a mix of the navel combat found in ACIII along with traditional AC gameplay. It the leak is true, then it looks like Ubisoft just might be planning on releasing the new PS Vita Assassin’s Creed game around the same time as Black Flag.
