Top 10 video game budgets of all time

February 25, 2010

There was a time when video games were made on a shoestring budget by amateurs in their bedrooms. But no longer. Games nowadays often have as big, or bigger, budgets than Hollywood blockbusters. And the top 10 biggest video game budgets to date are listed below.

Bungie still refusing to discuss future releases, but multi-platform surely a given

February 25, 2010

Halo developer Bungie is still refusing to discuss the game(s) it has in development. Which has led to new speculation that the title(s) will be multi-platform. I don’t think that’s even up for debate now – Bungie’s next game will be on PS3 as well as Xbox 360. Surely.

Valve loves Natal but not “s**tty” games

February 22, 2010

The reason many hardcore gamers dislike the Wii and its control system is the type of games available for the console. Valve thinks – hopes – that developers will up the ante and quality for the Xbox 360’s motion-sensing control system, Natal.

Xbox 360 Final Fantasy XIII not HD?

February 18, 2010

Final Fantasy XIII is obviously coming to both the PS3 and Xbox 360 after Square Enix decided to spread the love from just Sony to include Microsoft. However, that doesn’t guarantee the two versions will play or look the same. And there’s now evidence that the Xbox 360 version will not be running in HD, unlike the PS3 version.

PS3 cross-game chat coming, but only as part of premium PSN subscription service

February 18, 2010

Sony has improved the features and usability of the PS3 immensely since it was first released via regular firmware updates. But there are some features which are consistently missing, the biggest of which is arguably cross-game voice chat. And there could be a reason for that.

Greenberg: Xbox 360 has more blockbusters and exclusives than PS3

February 18, 2010

Aaron Greenberg thinks the Xbox 360 has more blockbuster titles and exclusive games in 2010 than the PS3 does. Can he possibly be right?

Analyst: Nintendo needs to cut price of Wii or risk PS3 & Xbox 360 fight back

February 18, 2010

Nintendo really needs to cut the price of the Wii, especially with Natal and Arc on the way. Discuss.
