Without doubt Jonathan Schlaffer is one of the more controversial writers on the BLORGE network. In the past he’s upset Ubuntu/Linux fans, Mac fans and even Windows Vista fans with his take-no-prisoner, take-it-or-leave-it commentary and opinion.

In a stinging attack against rival Nintendo, Sony chairman Sir Howard Stringer has said that he is happy that the Wii is “a bit short on hardware”, obviously referring to the Wii’s well-known lack of grunt. He also admitted that there was some question about whether the PlayStation 3 (PS3) would make it through this “early part of the cycle”.

It’s no secret the PS3 packs a real punch when it comes to computing power. Add in some of Stanford’s Folding@home project, 600,000 registered consoles, and some good ol’ scientific elbow grease and you have a legitimate entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

In the lead up to the launch of the much hyped Halo 3, Microsoft has proudly announced that it has sold more than 11.6 million Xbox 360 consoles in 37 countries.

Sony has outlined a plan to rescue the PlayStation 3 (PS3) from oblivion. Disappointingly, the plan has already received a thumbs down from a leading Japanese games expert.
