Look away PlayStation 3 (PS3) fans, what you’re about to read will not bring you joy. The latest sales figures from the NPD Group show that the Nintendo Wii outsold the PS3 four to one in the US market in April.

The president of Microsoft’s Entertainment & Devices Division, Robbie Bach (pictured), has lashed out against Nintendo’s Wii games console, criticizing the console’s weak graphics, lackluster performance and lack of DVD video playback. He also predicted that games developers would not be able to develop hard-core games for the Wii.

A top analyst at Wedbush Morgan Securities, Michael Pachter, has predicted that ultimately the PlayStation 3 (PS3) will be the winner of the console war, taking 36% market share in 2009, ahead of Ninendo’s Wii with 34%, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 with 30%.

Nintendo will boost production of its Wii next-generation console, according to Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, .
Speaking at a press conderence in Tokyo, Satoru admitted that Nintendo was surprised by the amazing success of the Wii.
