There have been phallic creatures created in Spore and I’m fairly sure that’s not what EA had in mind when it released the Creature Creator. Here is something a little more constructive. Someone has gone and created aliens from the Half Life series in the Creature Creator.

I spent some time with EA’s Spore Creature Creator over the weekend and I have discovered it’s not that fun. The idea behind it is that you can create your creature and then import it into Spore when it is released in September. Besides creating your creature, there isn’t much to do in the creator.

EA (Electronic Arts) has released the Spore creature editor to give us all a little taste of the game before its official release in September. However, the creature editor is not a free download, and will run you $10 for the full version.

By now most of you should now how I feel about the Nintendo Wii but that won’t stop me from covering something that could be very good for the console. Up until now, Nintendo has been pushing its warmed over Mario-based games and Wii sports; if that’s your thing, great but it’s not mine and never will be, ever. A game called The Conduit may change all that, if it gets published.

GTAI IV is out and Jack Thompson is already having his say. He is calling for indictments against Take Two software and its Chairman Strauss Zelnick along with two other senior officials with the company. If that wasn’t enough he wants to take down Sony and Microsoft for "making this pornographic game available to minors" and Best Buy, Walmart, Gamestop and other retailers should be held accountable for selling the game openly to anyone under the age of 18.

Unlike the launch of Halo 3 which was surrounded by trailer after trailer and game footage and to some extent "spoilers" there is no such thing going on for GTA IV. There are trailers for GTA IV but only to the extent that Rockstar wants us to see and no more. Microsoft positioned Halo 3 to sell Xbox 360s but Rockstar is only concerned with selling the game, plain and simple.

An exclusive video game show for New York’s Time Square is not exactly the first thing I thought I would be writing about when I got up this morning. But, it seems that Clear Channel broadcasting thinks it is a great idea. The GCHD video series, as its being called will air only on a high-def video display in Times Square and is targeted at the average gamer, but that may not mean what you think it means.

A reader comment got me to thinking about the varying types of gamers; one is content to sit down and play games for hours on end, the other is content to play a game for a few minutes, put it down and go do something else. No one ever thought to serve both markets and only one company is serving one almost exclusively, Nintendo.

There is a revision coming to the PS3 at some point later this year but the time frame remains an enigma. But, now it is believed to be coming in August with new, cooler running Cell and RSX graphic chips. The PS3 hasn’t even reached the "break even" point for Sony yet.
