In a surprising announcement Square Enix is currently in talks with Tecmo over a friendly takeover. It seems more and more giant publishers are attempting to gobble up the smaller publisher/studios. What does this mean for the future of the video game industry.

It seems Sony is keeping its promise to work more closely with studios and developers, as just this past week we witnessed three new PS3 titles that will be hitting the PSN store soon. These titles range from small bite sized to huge gigabyte titles as well. Details after the jump.

Just a few days ago we showed a scan of a Radioshack flyer indicating a price drop for the Xbox 360 and now there is more evidence that this covert price drop will happen very soon. At this point you could consider the price drop practically official. Details after the jump.

During the GC in Leipzig a new PSN downloadable game was announced called Savage Moon. Savage Moon is a new RTS title developed by a third party studio set to launch via the PSN sometime this year. Wow, Too Human, an Xbox 360 exclusive game that launched recently, has been getting well, lackluster reviews, and gamers have taken pitchforks to this game on the web. On every forum you hit from NeoGAF to Gametrailers, gamers are bashing the game up and down.

The Playstation Home is the highly anticipated Second Life like social networking application set to head towards the PS3. There has been much speculation regarding Home, such as if it will release this year or remain free. Well it seems Sony is putting it’s cards on the table.

Wow, the biggest rumor to come out of GC 2008 is that Mirrors Edge will be a timed PS3 exclusive. I don’t quite know how to classify this story, as either a rumor or confirmation of sorts. The reason why is pretty convoluted, details after the jump.
