Fans of the PS3 franchise, Resistance will be sad to hear that Insomniac will no longer be working on the series. After working on the franchise for half a decade, the studio will be calling it quits on the series to focus on its next big title.

Earlier this week Irrational Games revealed that Bioshock Infinite would have a mode called 1999. This new mode is supposed to be a hardcore difficulty setting paying homage to the games of the past.

Develop has called Dust 514 the PS3’s most important game previously and as time goes by its becoming evident as to why this could be the case. Besides being probably the most ambitious cross platform/game universe project of all time, the developers will also be “trailblazing” across new console territory with its universal currency.

According to the latest rumor doing the rounds, Microsoft may be looking to can its arbitrary Xbox currency system. Apparently, the company is planning to switch over to using real world currency.

The latest dashboard update for the Xbox 360 is doing some funky things with the video playback on the console. Previously it was revealed by Digital Foundry that all non-Zune 1080p movies are being downscaled to 720p. It seems like some other video playback issues have started cropping up as well.
