Florida Supreme Court threatens to hold Jack Thompson in contempt

Though it might seem like all we do around here is talk about games, systems and the like, I like to think we’re keeping our collective eyes on the big picture of gaming as well. That’s why I’ve been keeping close dibs on Jack Thompson, effectively the enemy numero uno of the gaming industry. In his latest caper, Thompson has effectively pissed off the Supreme Court of Florida enough to mandate he contact them through a lawyer of his own!
Never let it be said the we pass up any opportunity to get down to the nitty gritty of the gaming industry — this is just another piece of what is becoming a hotbed of political controversy. Massachusetts lawmakers are discussing a bill today that would restrict minors from buying games deemed “too violent” by the state, on the grounds that video games are similar to pornography.
