Its been a tough year for Sony in 2011, with the tsunami hitting Japan earlier this year followed by the devastating floods in Thailand and the rise of the yen, to what many have called “far beyond what is tolerable.” To exasperate the matter, the dollar took a sharp dive in 2011. With Kaz Hirai stepping up as the new CEO, all eyes are on him now to turn things around.

According to the latest rumor doing the rounds, Microsoft may be looking to can its arbitrary Xbox currency system. Apparently, the company is planning to switch over to using real world currency.

With the launch of the PlayStation Vita around the corner in the US and Europe, Sony is starting to promote the system. At CES, Sony revealed that the handheld device will come with some free Augmented Reality (AR) video games.

Newly formed studio, Yakuza has been quietly working away on a very interesting title called Binary Domain along with Sega. At a glance the game is a third person shooter with a cover system, but under the hood there is much more going on than meets the eye.

After acquiring the license from Universal, Telltale Games has been working hard on its next major adventure installment, Jurassic Park the Game. While the game is set to launch November 15th, it appears that the studio has a treat for PSN members.
