Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo talk NPD figures - PS3, Xbox spun to beat Wii!The April sales figures for the U.S. were released at the end of last week by NPD. They again showed the Wii way out in front, beating the PS3 and Xbox sales figures combined for yet another month, despite the release of Grand Theft Auto IV. But of course, Sony and Microsoft couldn’t just admit that they are losing the current generation console battle so they instead issued press releases spinning the figures their way.

Forbes thinks Grand Theft Auto IV could hurt the Wii

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Forbes thinks Grand Theft Auto IV could hurt the WiiIt really just wouldn’t be fair to the hordes of Wii fanboys who harass the comment sections of my work here at Gamer to let the coals cool for too long before giving the fire a helpful poke in the right direction, so to that end, here’s another legitimate media entity that thinks the Wii might not be all rainbows and butterflies: Forbes thinks that the Nintendo Wii could suffer from not offering Grand Theft Auto IV, one of the best-rated and most anticipated games to date.

Gamers will get last laugh by outliving haters of PS3, Xbox 360, Wii

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Gamers will get last laugh by outliving haters of PS3, Xbox 360, WiiIt is a dark time we gamers live in; witch hunters like Jack Thompson and the rest of the media try to keep us down at every turn, politicians search daily for ways to squash the creativity of game developers, and parents are apparently too stupid to recognize that their own faulty parenting, not games, are the cause of their kids’ corruption. There is, however, a light at the end of the tunnel…at some point they’ll all be dead, and then only gamers will be left in their stead!

Ok, so at this point of the weekend, you are most likely trying to abstain from wetting yourself in anticipation of the Iron Man movie and game, right? No? Well another small title is hitting this week by the name of Grand Theft Auto 4, and the critics agree: GTA IV looks better on the PS3 than it does on the 360.

PS3, Xbox 360 drove 18% of HDTV sales over past year

Friday, April 25th, 2008

With the government moving to digital broadcast and offering those lovely little coupons, some might think that progress is pushing the adoption of HD sets on consumers; however, it would appear HD TV manufacturers should be giving a pretty lengthy shout-out to PS3 and Xbox 360 manufacturers Sony and Microsoft, because 18% of the HD sets sold in the last year were to gamers who wanted to take full advantage of their next-gen consoles.

PS3’s Metal Gear Solid 4 catching heat for “implied” child rape from BBFC

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

One of the most anticipated exclusive titles for the Playstation 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, has caught the attention of the big bad game police over at the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) because of one rather questionable instance in the game. Though GTA IV has its hookers, and Man Hunt has its gruesome slayings, the BBFC was up in arms that Metal Gear Solid 4 has what was called “implied child rape.”

Sony hurts market standing by delaying PS3 Home until Fall

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

As we at Blorge.com are apparently fanboys or haters of whatever console we choose to address in any article here, the next little bit of journalism should take most haters by surprise: Sony is only hurting itself and the Playstation 3 gamer base by delaying the much-acclaimed Home longer and longer. That’s right, I said it!

Why has the media suddenly turned on the little Nintendo Wii?

Monday, April 21st, 2008

There has to be more than one bewildered blogger and writer on the internet who is wondering exactly why, in a matter of days, many websites, developers, and writers have been blasting Nintendo for its humble little game console, the Wii. What, did the Wii make a bad ethnic joke?
