I spent some time with EA’s Spore Creature Creator over the weekend and I have discovered it’s not that fun. The idea behind it is that you can create your creature and then import it into Spore when it is released in September. Besides creating your creature, there isn’t much to do in the creator.

Many of us have already played Mass Effect on the Xbox 360 but just to play it. In my opinion, you don’t really experience the game until it is played properly with a keyboard and mouse and the only way to do that is with a PC.

3D Realms was behind the original Prey but the project has shifted over to Radar Group for Prey 2. It was a little disconcerting to hear some say that it was not doing anything else but Prey 2. There’s a dying breed in the gaming industry, and I’ll have to beat you with a stick if you try to save it. PC gaming, which for a long time defined the cutting edge in game innovation and advancement, is nearly vanquished in the face of console games. Say goodbye to those gaudy cases and flashing lights; consoles are moving in!

Taking a break from the news for a hot minute, I found myself staring at my Xbox 360, and its blinking ring of death. It’s been nearly two weeks and I still haven’t gotten my coffin, which will indeed be my fourth coffin. Either way, I started weighing the pros and cons of owning each console, and you know what? To hell with the 360. I’m buying a PlayStation 3.
