Mass Effect 2 is the epic science fiction RPG set to come out in 2010 that continues the story of Shepard. The game looks like its shaping up quite nicely with tweaks to the combat and exploration. The developers at Bioware recently revealed a shocking twist to one of the potential endings in a new dev diary from Bioware.

One of the biggest surprises to come out of Microsoft’s press conference this year at E3 was the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2. This announcement caused a huge uproar with the hardcore Left 4 Dead fanbase as the first game was only released six months ago. Many feel that Valve is taking advantage of the loyal fanbase by cashing in on a sequel so quickly.

Mass Effect made a huge splash when it came out in late 2007. The story and atmosphere was engrossing with a dialog tree that was praised for its inventiveness. Bioware ups the ante with Mass Effect 2 by making the game even more like a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ book.

Yesterday, Sony dropped a mega deuce when the company revealed the first trailer of Final Fantasy XIV. This news shocked everyone as there was no clue or rumor of the game before yesterday. Since Final Fantasy XIV will be a MMO, many have started to question if there will be a subscription fee. However, according to sources the game will use a free-to-play model.

Many of us have long held out hope of an end to the consoles wars in favor of one universal console. Not everyone loves the idea but most can at least see the benefits. OnLive may be about to make that dream come true, but instead of using the power of a console, uses cloud computing instead, delivering games over the Internet in real time.

Unreal Tournament 3 has been out for over a year on the PC and PS3, and for a little over six months on the Xbox 360. It’s a game that passed me by on its release, with better games release alongside it that I chose to spend my money on. But that’s now changed. I have a copy of the game and thanks to the newly-released v2.00 I’m having a ball with it.

When Fallout 3 came out a few months ago, the game made waves throughout the video game industry. The game also came under scrutiny for the realistic simulation of drug addiction which was a touchy subject in the land down under. However, arguably the realism in Fallout 3 is what could make it one of the best RPGs out there.

The guys who made Bioshock are at it again, working on a brand new franchise. While other studios are laying off employees, it looks like 2K Boston is busy hiring staff to build up its new action-packed IP. The scant details indicate that this game may be vastly different from Bioshock.
