The PS Vita is set to launch February 22nd, and Sony is prepping what the company is calling the biggest marketing push in the history of the PlayStation. The new SVP of Brand marketing at the PlayStation division teases a new ad that will be hitting nationwide.

The PlayStation Vita is set to release next week on February 22nd, and Sony has just released a 12-minute video going over all of the features of the device in detail. In addition, Sony and Eat Sleep Play has released a series of Twisted Metal tutorial videos explaining in detail some of the gameplay mechanics of the title.

Its been a tough year for Sony in 2011, with the tsunami hitting Japan earlier this year followed by the devastating floods in Thailand and the rise of the yen, to what many have called “far beyond what is tolerable.” To exasperate the matter, the dollar took a sharp dive in 2011. With Kaz Hirai stepping up as the new CEO, all eyes are on him now to turn things around.

Video game publishers have always been reluctant to price digital versions of games lower than its retail counterparts. After all, it only makes sense that the digital version be cheaper as there is no manufacturing cost.
