Apparently, according to Jack Tretton big boss man of Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) spills the beans on what he thinks of Ken Kutaragi and Kaz Hirai (aka Riiiiiiiiidge Racer). According to what he says, he definitely likes the Kaz-man better than Kutaragi-san.

There has been a lot of criticism that the PSP has been loosing steam but things are starting to look up for the system. Right now the PSP has managed top sales and new great games coming out for the system, it’s future looks bright.

The Sony PSP has been somewhat of a failure everywhere outside of its native Japan. All of the elements were there to make the PSP a great and best-selling handheld but for various reasons it has failed to live up to its promise. Meanwhile, Nintendo has continued its dominance of the hand-held market with its innovative, and above all fun, DS.

As news filters in of Metal Gear Solid 4 prompting a huge rise in sales of the PS3 in Japan, could the Sony console do the unthinkable and actually beat the lifetime sales of its predecessor the Playstation 2?

It’s that time of the month again. No, not that time of the month, but the other time of the month, when NPD reveals the hardware and software sales data for the US, and we then argue about what it all means. The Wii is continuing its dominance, outselling the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined, but the bigger news is that the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 by more than just a few thousand this time around.

The Nintendo Wii has been kicking the Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360’s butts on a monthly basis for the last year. However, it was assumed that the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 in April would put a stop to that and allow them to catch up. Not a chance.

While consoles such as the PS3 may appear to have a higher concentration of good games, knowledgeable gamers may also consider the total number of quality games currently available for each console before buying. It seems that on this score, the Xbox beats the PS3 and Wii quite convincingly.

It’s all well and good selling millions of units of hardware, but unless people are also buying software for it too, then you may as well give up now. NPD has issued it’s latest U.S. software attach rates for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii as well as the PSP and DS, and it makes for interesting reading.

Over the first three months of the year, we ran a poll to find out which console will dominate in 2008. As well as the three main contenders of PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, there were votes for some interesting choices - choices added by our seemingly mentally unfit readers here on GAMER.BLORGE.

The official NPD sales figures for the US gaming industry were finally released yesterday, and they showed the Wii massively beating the Xbox 360 and PS3, while the Xbox just pipped the PS3 to second place in the home console battle. All three companies have now responded to the sales data, and all spin it to their own advantages.
