Media Create has released some sales data ahead of its regularly scheduled report. The firm revealed that the Vita sold approximately 65 percent of its launch stock.
Sony recently launched the PlayStation Vita in Japan and according to reports it appears that initial shipment is already sold out. The company decided to raise its initial launch supply to 700k due to strong demand for the device.
Sony recently released its financial report and its a bit of a mixed bag with sales up but profits down. Sony’s PlayStation gaming division is doing remarkably well despite stiff competition and the state of the economy worldwide.
The news many gamers have been waiting for was announced today when Jack Tretton, president and CEO of SCEA revealed the release date for the PlayStation Vita. The launch date is surprisingly a lot closer than anticipated as its right around the corner.
During Sony’s press conference today at Gamescom, the company talked about the upcoming PlayStation Vita but also unveiled a new model for the existing PSP handheld. The company also demonstrated some new games at the event.
