Gran Turismo games have never been short on content. The number of cars, tracks, body kits, and tuning options in the games so far have been nothing short of miraculous. One thing it’s never had however is a track editor, which along with damage would be pretty high on most fans’ list of wants. Maybe Gran Turismo 5 can deliver on both counts.

Rumors of a follow-up to the Wii have been coming thick and fast almost as long as the original Wii has been out. Nintendo has never admitted the new hardware exists but reports of a Wii 2 or Wii HD being in development have persisted. And now there’s a new one, with the ‘Wii2′ supposedly set to be released worldwide late in 2010. Possibly.

When Sony announced the PS3 Slim last week it must have known Microsoft was going to fight back. The PS3 Slim has generated all of the gaming headlines over the past week and that’s clearly not good for the Xbox 360. What to do, what to do? How about hefty price cuts for the Xbox 360 Elite and Pro? Yeah, that should do nicely.

The Wii cannot now be beaten this generation. But the PS3 and Xbox 360 are still pushing for that second place, with the aim to sell as many consoles between now and the birth of the next generation. I think a good old-fashioned pricing war is well overdue, and there’s one due to arrive by the end of this year.

Project Natal is an exciting development in the world of gaming because it takes the foundation that the Nintendo Wii, and to a lesser extent the Playstation Eye, has created and builds on it. Could it be that Natal will be launched as part of a new Xbox console? And could that console be called the 360+?

The mobile gaming sector is currently dominated by one company (Nintendo) with one delightful machine which appeals to the mass market (the DS).
