Besides being probably the most ambitious cross platform/game universe project of all time, the developers will also be “trailblazing” across new console territory with its universal currency.

In some ways its been a tough year for Sony in 2011 while its also been one of its best in terms of the sheer amount of quality titles released on the platform. With the PS Vita looming over the horizon for a US and European launch, there is much at stake for Sony to make this new device a success.

Rumors of God of War IV have persisted throughout 2011 with PSM3 reporting that the game would be revealed this year. The magazine revealed that a source close to working on the God of War universe has revealed that there will be an online element in the new game.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss released in Japan to positive reception with Famitsu scoring the game with an impressive 9/9/8/9. With various media outlets getting their import copies of the game, reviews have started going up for the highly anticipated title in the west.

Publishers including full sized games for free for the PS3 version of the title have been a popular trend this year. It looks like this will continue into next year with Sony spearheading this practice along with David Jaffe’s independent studio, Eat Sleep Play.
