The Internet was ablaze with news that Gametrailers is biased towards the PS3 and in favor of the Xbox 360 after their Grid comparison video debacle where they showed a stunning crash video for Xbox 360 and a very lackluster crash video for PS3, when in fact both videos turned out to have originated from the PS3.

By now most of you should now how I feel about the Nintendo Wii but that won’t stop me from covering something that could be very good for the console. Up until now, Nintendo has been pushing its warmed over Mario-based games and Wii sports; if that’s your thing, great but it’s not mine and never will be, ever. An exclusive video game show for New York’s Time Square is not exactly the first thing I thought I would be writing about when I got up this morning. But, it seems that Clear Channel broadcasting thinks it is a great idea. The GCHD video series, as its being called will air only on a high-def video display in Times Square and is targeted at the average gamer, but that may not mean what you think it means.

The AirForce Research Laboratory is purchasing 300 Sony PS3s to conduct “unspecified research” on Cell processors; the heart of every PS3. Why exactly it needs 300 of them to do so is not exactly clear; my guess is on some kind of artificial intelligence research.

It’s no secret that the so-called “backwards compatibility” for PS2 games on the PS3 went from bad to horrible to not working at all. Current generation PS3s lack any PS2 hardware and rely on software emulation which doesn’t work very often, if at all. The company may soon offer downloadable PS2 games “made” for the PS3 over the PlayStation Network.
